Fiscal cancer is slowly eating away at America’s economy

David Walker, the comptroller general of the United States, is worried about our economic future. In fact, he believes that America is suffering from a fiscal cancer that could result in tragedy if left untreated. Ultimately, he says, the United States will barely be able to pay the interest on its mounting debt, making barely a dent in the principal and leaving no funds left for programs designed to protect our country (such as homeland security and national defense) or educate our future generations.

American citizens are also looking at bleak financial futures if they don’t make changes to their investment portfolios. Sensible investors like Warren Buffet suggest diversification of investments to include cash and gold.
